SKILLS is a non-profit organization which provides a range of community–based supports to people with disabilities. There are multiple positions available. Two positions are Full time Community Support Worker II - Positions 40+ hours a week Monday-Friday Days with the potential to work the occasional evening or weekend shift.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years previous experience in the Community support Sector.
A Vehicle is Required, along with Adequate Insurance, liability coverage of $1 million minimum, and a clear Drivers Abstract. All mileage is claimed using a T2200 at the end of the tax year.
The positions are:
An Outreach caseload position that would require supports to meet people on their caseload around the city of Edmonton. This position has variable day hours 40hr per week. There is the possibility of the occasional evening shift.
There are also residential type positions. One is in the Edgemont area (Deep Southwest). This position is a full time 7am-3p position in an large apartment building.
Positions at 40 hours per week are eligible for benefits and sick time. Relief or Casual positions are not eligible for benefits. All positions are eligible for the EAP (Employee Assistance Program).
The ideal candidate needs to have previous disability support worker experience, be resourceful, knowledgeable of community programs, have good computer skills, energetic and experience assisting with personal care. This position entails creating and scheduling community-based activities, while ensuring that the individuals attend these activities.
The successful applicant must provide a current clear Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Search.
The starting wage of this position is $20.94-$23.13 an hour based on experience and education.
