United Ocean Production is accepting expressions of interest from talented AI Visual Designers for future project-based assignments.
This is a casual independent-contractor opportunity. Contractors will be contacted when projects matching their skills, style and availability become available. Assignments may range from one-off deliverables to multi-week creative engagements.
This position has strong potential to develop into consistent ongoing work and eventually a full-time role. Any transition would depend on performance, creative fit, reliability, project volume and the company’s evolving needs.
We’re looking for designers who combine strong visual-design fundamentals with advanced generative-AI workflows. The role involves much more than generating images: you’ll translate creative briefs into compelling visual concepts, maintain consistency across assets and refine AI output into polished, production-ready work.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and refine imagery using Midjourney, FLUX, Stable Diffusion, GPT Image, Ideogram and related tools
- Develop original characters, mascots and visual IP
- Create character turnarounds, expression sheets and consistency systems
- Design cinematic environments, concept art and world-building assets
- Produce architectural and interior visualizations
- Create key visuals, posters, logos and social media graphics
- Develop storyboards, mood boards, pitch decks and shot concepts
- Create first frames, control images and reference assets for AI video
- Plan AI video shots for Veo, Runway, Kling, Hailuo and Luma
- Prepare image datasets and references for LoRA training
- Write high-quality prompts and build reusable prompt libraries
- Maintain character, environment and style consistency across projects
- Retouch, composite, inpaint, colour-correct and upscale images
- Prepare organized source files and final deliverables for production
Required Qualifications
- A strong portfolio demonstrating professional visual-design or concept-art ability
- Hands-on experience with at least one leading AI image-generation platform
- Strong understanding of composition, lighting, colour, perspective and visual storytelling
- Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop
- Ability to turn AI-generated material into polished, commercially usable assets
- Experience maintaining character or style consistency across multiple images
- Ability to interpret creative briefs and develop original visual solutions
- Strong attention to detail and file organization
- Clear communication and openness to creative feedback
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed deadlines
- Access to your own suitable computer, software and reliable internet connection
A formal degree is not required. Portfolio quality, creative judgment and production ability are more important.
Preferred Skills
- ComfyUI, FLUX or advanced Stable Diffusion workflows
- ControlNet, inpainting, outpainting and upscaling
- Character turnaround and mascot development
- Storyboarding and cinematic pre-visualization
- AI video production and shot planning
