Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Alberta Land Surveyor to join our team on a contractual basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse surveying projects across Alberta, utilizing advanced geospatial and CAD technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of land surveying principles within the Alberta jurisdiction. This position is essential for ensuring precise land measurements, boundary determinations, and data management for various construction and development projects.
Duties
- Conduct land surveys using traditional and modern methods to establish property boundaries and topographical features.
- Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and legal descriptions in compliance with provincial standards.
- Utilize AutoCAD, CAD, ArcGIS, and GIS software to create accurate survey drawings and spatial data visualizations.
- Collect, analyze, and manage geospatial data, ensuring accuracy and integrity within databases and data management systems.
- Collaborate with construction teams, engineers, and clients to interpret survey data and support project planning.
- Maintain meticulous records of field measurements, survey notes, and digital data for future reference.
- Ensure all surveying activities adhere to safety protocols, provincial regulations, and industry best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Land Surveyor with a focus on Alberta projects or similar jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CAD software, ArcGIS, GIS platforms, and data management tools.
- Strong background in construction surveying processes and techniques.
- Experience with data collection methods including GPS technology and total stations.
- Familiarity with databases used for storing survey data and spatial information management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data accurately.
- Valid professional licensing or certification as a Land Surveyor in Alberta is preferred or must be eligible for licensure under provincial regulations. Pay: $45.00-$60.00 per hour
