Job Overview
Seeking a punctual and determined assistant with tree and garden operations. Must be willing to travel, have access to reliable vehicle, and bring a positive work ethic to the team. Candidate must be able to work in challenging conditions (slopes, wet, dry, heat, snow etc). Experience is preferred but not absolutely required. Candidate must be physically able to lift 60 lbs and up, bend, stand for long periods, have ability to adapt to changing circumstances, learn and use basic hand tools (rake, shovel, blower, chipper) and remain on task during operations. Long sleeved pants and shirts, as well as PPE are required on job sites. Proficiency in English is required. Travel is required for this position. Must be able to listen/learn and follow safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist with tree pruning, removal, and planting activities under the supervision of site supervisor
- Support rigging operations for safe tree felling and limb removal
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including trimming, mulching, and debris cleanup
- Help with general groundskeeping and horticultural tasks to promote healthy landscapes
- Maintain safety protocols at all times during physical work and equipment operation
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transportation of tools and materials around job sites
Requirements
- Prior experience or familiarity with rigging, pruning or landscape maintenance is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Knowledge of horticulture principles is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically perform tasks such as lifting and climbing
- Strong attention to safety procedures and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn new skills related to arboriculture, GIS mapping, and equipment operation
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and communicate effectively within a team environment
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
