As the company continues to grow, we are currently seeking a Generator Technician to join our growing team.
Vacant Role: Full Time, Permanent, 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
The candidate will perform the following duties for this current vacant role:
- Complete weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual inspections, including testing of generators installed primarily to provide standby power during outages and other emergency situations.
- Diagnose and perform repairs on engines, alternators, radiators, battery chargers, and other generator system components.
- Replace coolant, oil, and filters in large diesel and natural gas-powered engines.
- Submit service work information and documentation to schedulers in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in-house and at client/customer sites.
- Assist with preparing and organizing the following day’s work assignments.
- Support ongoing shop operations and maintenance activities.
- Attend and participate in workshop training sessions.
- Adhere to all safety practices and regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Establish and maintain positive customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and exceed expectations.
- Complete required forms and reports to ensure accurate record-keeping of generator service jobs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will also obtain the following qualifications & skills for this position:
- 2 years of mechanical experience
- Valid Ontario G Driver’s License
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable; excellent punctuality.
- Travel within the GTAA
- Ability to work overtime and on weekends as needed
- Generator experience is an asset
