Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator with a valid Vulnerable Sector Check (less than 6months) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalized care. This role requires excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a strong commitment to early childhood education principles.
Duties
- Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and respect among children.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance in collaboration with specialists.
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress reports, and developmental assessments.
- Ensure health and safety standards are consistently met or exceeded within the classroom setting.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and participate in team meetings for continuous improvement.
- Utilize computer skills to document observations, prepare educational materials, and communicate with families effectively.
- Demonstrate leadership by guiding new staff or interns and contributing to a positive team atmosphere.
- Manage classroom organization efficiently to maximize learning opportunities while maintaining a structured environment.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in early childhood education or childcare settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development theories and best practices is essential.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs or disabilities is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is highly desirable to support bilingual program initiatives.
- Strong communication skills are required for effective interaction with children, families, and team members.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and time management abilities to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Leadership qualities that foster teamwork and mentorship within the educational environment.
- Computer literacy including basic operation of educational software, documentation tools, and communication platforms.
