Our client is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a non-profit organization in Calgary, Alberta on a long-term contract basis. This role supports day-to-day accounts payable operations, reconciliations, vendor management, and payment processing while helping maintain accurate financial records and efficient workflows.
Responsibilities:
Process vendor invoices and customer receipts accurately and on time
Monitor and report on AP/AR performance metrics and transaction activity
Support daily workflow coordination and team administration activities
Review and prepare cheque, EFT, and wire payment runs for approval
Reconcile vendor statements, customer accounts, petty cash, and key balance sheet accounts
Follow up on outstanding purchase orders and resolve invoice-related issues
Assist with collections and monitor overdue customer balances
Maintain vendor and customer master records, ensuring documentation is complete and approved
Support finance projects and additional accounting duties as required
Utilize Yardi and other accounting systems to maintain accurate financial records and coding
Requirements:
Experience in accounts payable, with exposure to accounts receivable and account reconciliations
Proficiency with accounting software, including Yardi
Strong knowledge of invoice processing, account coding, vendor management, and payment administration
Experience preparing or reviewing cheque runs, EFTs, and wire payments
Ability to analyze financial data and monitor operational metrics
Strong attention to detail with experience maintaining accurate records and approvals
Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced finance environment
