The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 3 weeks worked (70 hours per week, 7 days per week) followed by 1 week of rest.
The anticipated start date is July 11 with two Rare Earth mineral exploration projects in Labrador, Newfoundland.
This position will provide a Geology/Earth Science graduate or student with the opportunity to gain valuable geological and exploration experience, working with the EFU Team on a variety of projects.
Note that this work involves living out of remote fly camps with limited amenities.

Primary Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Junior Geologist performs exploration work in the field as required. Responsibilities include:
- Follow work, health and safety and environmental protection procedures;
- Perform a variety of geological activities including geochemical sampling, prospecting and mapping, logging drill core, and assisting with geophysical surveys (walking MAG, I.P, Beep Mat);
- Collect data and interpret field observations;
- Data entry for a variety of geological, geophysical, and geochemical surveys; and
- All other duties, as required.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- University degree or enrollment in geology, geological sciences, geological engineering or earth sciences program
- Familiar with basic geological concepts such as rock and mineral identification, field mapping;
- Ability to spend long days in the field carrying a backpack with samples and equipment;
- Able to navigate in remote areas using compass and GPS (GPS training will be available);
- Enthusiasm to work outdoors in all weather;
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude are a must;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team;
Assets
- Experience in mineral exploration
- Bilingual (French and English)
- CPR/First Aid
- PAL (firearm license)
