About the Role:
These are flexible, people-centered role supporting adults with developmental disabilities in residential settings, the community, or through case coordination and resource facilitation.
Depending on your experience, availability, and interest, you may be placed in one of the following areas:
Residential Support (CDSW) – direct care in a home setting
Community Support (CDSP) – 1:1 support in homes and community
Community Resource Facilitation (CRF) – caseload management, direct care, advocacy, and system navigation
Key Responsibilities:
Across all roles, responsibilities may include:
- Supporting individuals with daily living activities (personal care, meals, routines)
- Encouraging independence, inclusion, and personal development
- Assisting individuals in accessing community programs, appointments, and resources
- Developing and implementing individualized support/service plans (role dependent)
- Building strong relationships with individuals, families, and support networks
- Collaborating with internal teams and external professionals
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records
- Supporting individuals with behaviours of concern using proactive strategies
Work Environment & Scheduling
Schedules vary depending on the program:
- CDSW: Full-Time, Part Time, structured shifts (day, evening, split shifts)
- CDSP: Full-Time, Part Time, weekday daytime hours, flexible caseload-based scheduling
- CRF: Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Permanent Full-Time
- Travel within Edmonton and surrounding areas may be required
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities (range: 6 months to 3+ years depending on role)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Intermediate computer skills
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
Assets:
- Education in social work, disability studies, or related field
- Experience with mental health, addictions, or complex needs
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
Other Requirements:
- Reliable transportation is required for the CRF role only
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (for applicable roles) for the CRF role only
- Flexibility in availability based on client and program needs
Compensation:
- Compensation varies by role, experience, and responsibilities:
- Residential Support (CDSW): ~$18.61 – $20.34/hour
- Community Support (CDSP): ~$22.00 – $24.04/hour
- Community Resource Facilitator (CRF): ~$45,000 – $50,000 annually
- Benefits eligibility varies by position (full-time roles include health benefits, pension, and paid vacation). All employees have access to an Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP).
