Fleischauer Brothers Landscaping LTD has been involved in the installation of mid-high end residential, commercial, and municipal landscape construction projects for over 40 years. Our rapidly growing company is in search of a highly knowledgeable and experienced construction foreperson to join our team. We offer a wide variety of services including landscape maintenance, landscape construction, landscape design, and winter maintenance. Landscape Construction Foreperson Description
A successful applicant will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the landscape construction industry, including a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial, supervisory, or progressively demanding position. The landscape construction foreperson is responsible for overseeing the installation of a variety of hardscape projects from inception to completion. These projects may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Natural and prefabricated interlock driveways, patios, walkways, etc.
- Broomed, stamped, and exposed aggregate concrete driveways, patios, walkways, steps, etc.
- Natural and prefabricated retaining walls
- Natural and prefabricated steps
- Grading and earthworks
- Drainage infrastructure
- Outdoor kitchens
- Waterfall features
- Lighting features
- Natural and gas fire pits
- Plant material
- Sodding
- Seeding
- Decks
- Fences
- Pergolas
- Sheds
Landscape Construction Foreperson Duties
A successful applicant will be required to complete the following duties with a high degree of effectiveness and efficiency in order to ensure their team has a successful season. The potential duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the execution of various landscape construction projects in accordance with predetermined quality control standards and timelines
- Read and interpret informal and formal blueprints, engineered schematics, and specifications to ensure an incredibly accurate installation
- Operate all applicable equipment with a high degree of efficiency
- Manage health and safety standards both on and off the job site
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day to day activities of 2 – 4 team members
- Delegate daily project tasks to the appropriate team members based on a variety of skill sets
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools, equipment, trailers, and vehicles
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis including timesheets, material purchasing, vehicle, trailer, and machine inspections, incident reports, etc.
- Comply with all company regulations, policies, procedures, and expectations
Equipment and Machinery Experience
A successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience with the following pieces of equipment and machinery:
- 1 ton to 5 ton trucks accompanied by an open, enclosed, or dump trailer
- Compact and full size front end loader
- Compact and full size excavator
- Compact and full size skid steer
- Compaction equipment
- Quick cut stone saw
- Laser levelling equipment
- Grading and elevation equipment
- Handheld power and manual tools
- A variety of carpentry equipment

- Ability to install a wide variety of landscape construction projects with zero external assistance
Education and Certifications
- Post-secondary education in an applicable discipline, and/or an equivalent combination of secondary school education and acquired work experience
- A valid government issued G license with a clean driving abstract
- A clean criminal record check
- AZ and/or DZ licences would be considered an asset
- Heavy equipment operator certification would be considered an asset
- Working at heights certification would be considered an asset
- Health and safety and first aid training would be considered an asset
