Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or hotel settings is preferred but not required. The Host/Hostess will play a vital role in creating memorable experiences for our guests and supporting the overall operations of the establishment.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly first impression
- Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings or inquiries
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely seating and service flow
- Monitor guest wait times and communicate effectively with guests regarding wait status
- Assist guests with special requests or accommodations to enhance their dining experience
- Support the restaurant team by handling guest inquiries and providing excellent customer service throughout their visit
Qualifications
- Proven experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality roles is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse guests
- Knowledge of food service operations, POS systems (including Micros POS), and restaurant procedures
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Previous hotel or restaurant experience is a plus but not mandatory
- Friendly demeanor with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
