Greater Vancouver Community Services Society is one of BC's oldest and largest accredited community care service providers. Since 1988, GVCSS has offered specialized care and supervision for individuals with profound physical and developmental disabilities through the operation of six group homes in the Lower Mainland.
The GVCSS Community Living Program is proud to have been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) since 2006.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Coordinator within our Child and Youth Program, part of the Community Living Department.
Job Summary:
Oversees the day-to-day operation and maintenance of an assigned program by performing duties such as ensuring adherence to agency and departmental policies and procedures, supervising staff, and ensuring residence maintenance and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the physical environment (house and grounds) in accordance with community, safety, health, and MCFD standards. Ensures accurate and timely communication and reporting.
- Ensure that goals of the individual’s health care plan, behavioral support plan, individual care plan and personal service plans are designed, implemented, and evaluated on a continuing basis and that documentation is maintained for each individual.
- Responsible for orienting new staff and maintaining payroll and attendance records.
- Liaise with community training programs, medical professionals, MCFD and other community support professionals as required.
- Transport or arranges for transport of individuals.
- Responsible for adhering to all OHS and SWP in the agency and department.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, 40 hours per week
Location: Shared Living Home - Chilliwack
Wage: $34.46 per hour (starting wage on BCGEU wage grid) + comprehensive benefits package
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary certificate in a related field
- Completion of a supervisory certificate from a recognized educational institution, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Two (2) years recent related experience
- Current “Emergency Child and Youth Care” First Aid and Cardio-pulmonary certification
- Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License
- Proficiency in basic budgeting concepts and computer skills, especially in word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to understand and communicate in English verbally and in writing
- Ability in conflict resolution, critical thinking and personnel interaction
- Ability to supervise, work as part of a team as well as independently
