GLV is currently hiring for a skilled and experienced Site Supervisor to join our dynamic team and oversee the execution of playground construction projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
● Review project specifications, blueprints, and schedules to ensure alignment with design requirements.
● Supervise and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
● Monitor and control project timelines, and resources to achieve project milestones.
● Lead and motivate construction teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
● Conduct regular site meetings to effectively communicate project goals, expectations, and updates.
● Travel to project sites as required to oversee construction activities.
● Collaborate with the project coordinator to source and acquire necessary materials and equipment.
● Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress reports, and safety records.
● Handle all safety-related investigations in the event of workplace incidents.
●Ensure safety meetings are held regularly, documented, and address any safety concerns promptly.
● Assist crews with field operations as required, ensuring smooth project execution.
● Train employees on project-related skills as required, fostering skill development and adherence to project standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
● Must be physically fit and be able to lift up to 50lbs or 22kgs, as the role may involve manual handling of equipment and materials.
● Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s licence, have their own vehicle for transportation.
● Proven experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, with a focus on civil, landscaping and/or earthwork construction is considered a strong asset.
● In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety protocols.
● Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams.
● Ability to manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, demonstrating effective project management skills.
● Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required, to accommodate project needs and deadlines.
● Possession of a valid First Aid certification, ensuring the ability to respond to and manage on-site emergencies.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE)
● Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or related field is preferred.
● CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) or LAT (Licensed Architectural Technologist) certificate, demonstrating advanced technical knowledge.
● Possession of a relevant Red-seal certification, indicating a high level of competency and expertise in the construction trade.
● CPSI CAN -Z14 certificate, or other valid certifications related to playground construction, highlighting specialized expertise.
● Experience in playground or park construction is considered a valuable asset.
