We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment, contributing to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and develop effective repair plans.
- Repair and rebuild engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components as needed.
- Conduct thorough testing of repaired equipment to verify performance and reliability.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and labor hours.
- Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and complete repairs in a timely manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
- Stay current on industry trends, equipment advancements, and manufacturer specifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, preferably in a construction or similar industry.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions.
- Certification from a recognized technical school or apprenticeship program is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
