Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Hydrovac Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating hydrovac trucks to safely excavate and expose underground utilities while ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.
Duties
- Operate hydrovac trucks for safe excavation of soil and debris around underground utilities.
- Perform pre-trip inspections and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to plan excavation projects effectively.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while on-site to minimize risks.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs and equipment usage.
Skills
- Proficient in operating heavy equipment, including hydrovac trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Experience in horizontal drilling techniques is a plus.
- Ability to dig safely around existing utilities while minimizing disruption.
- Commercial driving experience is required for operating larger vehicles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
