Job Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and patient-focused Licensed Optician to join our optical team. The ideal candidate will assist patients in selecting eyewear, provide exceptional customer service, and ensure accurate fitting and dispensing of corrective lenses. Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that meet their prescription needs and personal style preferences
- Conduct precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame sizing
- Dispense eyewear accurately, ensuring proper fit, comfort, and functionality
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, explaining lens options, and educating patients to help they make purchase decisions
- Maintain knowledge of current optical products, lens technology, and industry trends
- Manage inventory levels of frames, lenses, and accessories to ensure availability for patient needs
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to support patient care
- Utilize retail sales skills to promote eyewear products and accessories effectively
- Operate optical equipment efficiently while adhering to safety standards
Requirements
- Valid licensure as an Optician in accordance with provincial regulations
- Proven experience in optical services, laboratory work, or retail sales within an optical setting
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to vision care
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures for lens fabrication and fitting
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of current eyewear trends and technological advancements in lenses and frames
- Prior experience in retail management or sales is desirable but not mandatory
Pay: $26.00-$35.00 per hour
