Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Log Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, respect, and teamwork while transporting logs from harvesting sites to processing facilities.
Our ideal Professional Log Truck Driver candidate will:
- Adhere to Mercer’s Road to Zero program which means that all safety procedures are followed in your best effort to maintain yours and others safety while at work
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined by National Safety Code and Peace River Transport LP
- Conduct pre/post trip inspections
- Demonstrate appropriate and timely cargo securement on all trips
- Attend and participate in orientations, training and safety meetings
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
- Overall safe operation of brand new, state-of-the-art equipment (trucks and trailers)
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with staff, subcontractors and trades.
- Possess experience working in a culturally diverse workforce
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Additional duties as assigned
Your schedule will primarily be Monday to Friday but may vary depending on operational needs, including overtime and weekends. Shifts will alternate between day and night shift. We are currently looking for candidates local to Peace River and area or candidates willing to relocate at this time.
Qualifications
- Class 1 Driver's License with air brakes endorsement
- 2 or more years driving experience preferably with log hauling
- Clean 5 year Drivers Abstract

This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position and will require completion of a drug and alcohol testing.
