Job Description:
Eton-West Construction is looking for a full-time, Experienced Site Superintendent with commercial construction experience to work on projects in Southern Alberta, primarily in Calgary. Some out-of-town work may also be required. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Superintendent has the responsibility of managing the overall activities on the job site. You have specific experience within on a variety of projects including commercial retail buildings, restaurants, new builds, tenant improvements, and renovations. You believe in the importance of running a safe job site and are able to manage the activities of your work team along with those of multiple subcontractors while maintaining a positive and respectful workplace. Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate construction activities, supervise workers and sub-trades, ensure appropriate work forces are on site.
· Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, and applicable building codes, while monitoring construction progress and schedules.
· Ensure safety policies and procedures are being followed and reports are submitted regularly (e.g. daily diaries, FLHA’s, inspections, and hot-work permits).
· Host meetings such as tool-box meetings, start-up meetings, and sub-trade meetings.
· Complete safety orientations for all new workers and visitors to the job site.
· Various administrative paperwork such as purchase orders, equipment inventory sheets, timecards, expense reports, hire-on packages, and maintaining as-built drawings.
Job Requirements:
· Valid Alberta driver’s licence and your own vehicle.
· Valid Intermediate First Aid certificate (Level C with AED)
· Laptop computer.
· Computer experience including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Compensation:
Hourly wage typically ranges from $46-50 per hour and will be negotiated based on your skills and experience. Compensation package also includes bonus structure per project, vehicle allowance, computer allowance, and participation in the company benefit plan (medical, dental, vision).
Pay: $46.00-$50.00 per hour
