Overview
Truck–Trailer Mechanic responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy‑duty trucks and trailers. Ensures all equipment meets federal regulations and CVSA/DOT standards. Performs preventative maintenance, brake and suspension repairs, and electrical/air‑system troubleshooting. Maintains accurate service records and supports safe, reliable fleet operations.
Duties
- Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements
- Diagnose and repair vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Conduct inspections and testing of vehicle systems and components
- Complete necessary repairs and replacements of faulty parts
- Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer concerns and answering questions
Qualifications
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Familiarity with operating heavy equipment such as cranes or forklifts is a plus
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools for repairs and installations
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in varying conditions.
- Experience with ABS systems, welding, and refrigeration units (Thermo King)
Experience:
- 1 year experience as a Truck Mechanic, preferred in Canada.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues
- Experience working in a dealership or automotive repair shop is preferred.
