Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Deli Server to join our team on a full-time permanent basis with work scheduled during day-time hours. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the deli operates smoothly.
Duties
- Acting as a team member to serve customers in deli, dining room and grocery area
-Preparing sandwiches, salads, entrées, desserts and espresso drinks for guests to eat-in or take-out
-Preparing guest checks and taking payments at the cash register
-Restocking deli showcases as necessary to maintain an attractive presentation
-Ensuring visual presentation, signage, and cleanliness is up to standard in deli showcases
-Consistent participation and adherence to opening and closing duties and daily/weekly cleaning schedules
-Ensuring that each and every guest of the Italian Market is satisfied with the service/food and addressing concerns, requests, or issues either individually or by escalating to management
-Upholding standards of food handling and occupational health and safety legislation
Skills
- Experience in cash handling and using POS systems preferred
- Proficiency in basic math for accurate transactions
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and restaurant operations
- Understanding of food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to sanitize work areas effectively
- Strong customer service skills to interact with patrons in a friendly manner
