Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience working on a variety of vehicles and equipment. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automobiles and industrial machinery, ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Candidates with dealership experience or expertise in heavy equipment operation are highly preferred. The position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of mechanical systems, utilizing advanced tools and schematics to deliver top-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on automobiles, trucks, forklifts and industrial equipment using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic schematics
- Conduct maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repairs, engine diagnostics, electrical system troubleshooting, and system upgrades
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment safely and efficiently
- Utilize welding skills and mechanical knowledge for component fabrication or repair as needed
- Assist with the assembly and disassembly of vehicle components or machinery parts during repair processes
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and operation of heavy equipment to prevent accidents or injuries
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used for each vehicle or machine serviced
- Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and addressing customer concerns professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive mechanic or service technician; dealership experience is a plus
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostics
- Familiarity with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, HVAC systems, and industrial equipment
- Strong mechanical knowledge including electrical systems, schematics reading, welding, and use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Experience operating heavy machinery like excavators or cranes is desirable
- Knowledge of automotive systems as well as farm machinery or industrial equipment is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs
