About the Role
This role is a blend of equipment operation and physical landscape construction labour. The Landscape Construction Equipment Operator works as part of a field crew on a variety of residential and commercial projects, supporting excavation, grading, hardscape installation, and general site work.
While operating equipment is an important part of the position, successful candidates are equally comfortable working on the ground assisting with installation tasks, material handling, and overall crew productivity. This is an active outdoor role suited to individuals who enjoy teamwork, physical work, and seeing tangible project results.
What You’ll Do
- Operate equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, and loaders to support excavation, grading, and site preparation
- Perform hands-on labour including shoveling, raking, lifting, wheelbarrowing materials, and assisting with compaction and installation work
- Support the construction of patios, retaining walls, walkways, decks, planting areas, and general landscape features
- Follow site plans, grades, and utility locates to complete work safely and accurately
- Assist with site layout, clean-up, material organization, and maintaining an efficient job site
- Work collaboratively with residential and commercial crews to meet project timelines and quality expectations
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, clients, and other trades
- Follow company health and safety policies and contribute to a safe working environment
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the construction season
What We’re Looking For
- 2–3 years of experience operating landscape construction equipment
- Willingness and ability to perform physically demanding labour tasks daily
- Experience working on residential or commercial landscape construction crews is a strong asset
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment
- Ability to read utility locates and follow direction from crew leaders or supervisors
- Strong safety awareness and dependable work ethic
- Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and take on a variety of site responsibilities
- Valid G Driver’s Licence is an asset
