Health Care Aide (HCA) – Extendicare
Extendicare is seeking compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aides (HCAs) to provide person-centred care in long-term care homes and community settings. Working under the supervision of nursing professionals, you will assist residents with activities of daily living, support mobility, monitor changes in health status, and help maintain a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, toileting, and mobility.
- Observe and report changes in residents' health and well-being.
- Support meal assistance, recreational activities, and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate care documentation and follow infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver quality care.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide (HCA), Personal Support Worker (PSW), or equivalent provincially approved program.
- Eligibility to work in accordance with provincial employment requirements.
- Experience in long-term care, home care, or community healthcare is an asset.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification may be required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills with a commitment to compassionate, person-centred care.
