Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be an essential member of our disability support team, responsible for delivering high-quality care. Your core skills in nursing, medication administration, and diabetic care will be vital in supporting individuals' health and well-being. Strong communication skills and timely documentation will enhance your ability to provide compassionate care, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all individuals in the group home. This is a one on one LPN Position, working exclusively with a specific client in their home and in the community.
Necessary Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse- Alberta or Saskatchewan licensed
- Valid Standard/ Intermediate First Aid & CPR certificate required
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License and a reliable vehicle is a must
- Available for 12 hour shifts including alternating weekends
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Personal care responsibilities
- Diabetic Care experience preferred
- Behavior Management experience
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Strong administration, documentation, and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge or experience with diabetic care: including diet, counting carbs, and sliding scale of insulin administration
- Ability to mentor, role model, and teach life skills
- Ability to research, plan, and attend activities with the individual
- Good organization & time management skills
- Experience working with various communication styles and abilities is an asset.
