Overview:
Speedy Transport is an LTL carrier specializing in Canada to USA transportation and logistics for Canada, USA, Ontario, Quebec and North America. Founded in 1941 as a local, same-day parcel pick-up and delivery service, Speedy Transport has grown to be one of central Canada’s premier carriers.
We are seeking a determined and organized individual for the position of Supervisor, Highway Operations at our Brampton terminal. The purpose of this position is to ensure efficient and cost effective highway operations between all Speedy terminals, including its domestic and US Partners. Ensure all shipments are matched, manifested, processed and dispatched in a timely manner to ensure service standards.
Shift Timing: Monday to Friday 2200-0700
Position Responsibilities:
- Manage the day to day highway operations between All Speedy terminals, including its domestic and US partners.
- Work with the operations team to ensure accurate and timely processing of loads, ensuring that all priority loads depart and arrive in a timely manner.
- Manage the consolidation of freight to maximize load factor and minimize loads.
- Ensure Dispatchers are effective, efficient and purposeful.
- Ensure the ‘plan’ is executed and any changes needed to be made, are done.
- Ensure the ‘boards’ are caught up and dispatched ‘live.’
- Overseeing all inbounds and outbounds to all customers/terminals.
- Capacity to grow with SZTG FTL and LTL markets.
- Improving our current on time % metrics.
Position Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years dispatch experience, domestic or cross-border.
- Able to skillfully operate a computer, knowledge of MS Excel and Outlook essential.
- Ability to multi task and handle high volumes of work in a high paced environment.
- Ability to professionally communicate on the phone during stressful situations.
