Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Kitchen Manager/Cook to oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality food service. This role requires strong leadership, food preparation skills, and a thorough understanding of food safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a background in restaurant management or food industry experience, along with excellent team management and food handling capabilities. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring efficient service to our guests.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations
- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items with attention to quality and presentation
- Manage food preparation processes, ensuring adherence to recipes and portion control
- Oversee food handling procedures to meet safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols in the kitchen
- Train new staff on food safety, proper cooking techniques, and customer service standards
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organization, including equipment maintenance
- Assist in serving guests when necessary, providing excellent hospitality experience
- Lead by example in fostering a positive team environment and high standards of service
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management
- Supervising experience within a food service or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Background in food industry roles such as cook or chef preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills for team coordination and customer interaction
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including inventory management and service standards
