Little Kids Club of Royal Vista is a new Early Learning and Childcare centre, inspired by a blend of Montessori's philosophy and Reggio Emilia practices.
Little Kids Club is licensed for a capacity of 36 children ages 19 months to 5 years. The design and culture of the center creates a collaborative, connected community among the Children, Educators, and Families.
LKCRV is building a strong, collaborative team from the ground up and starting with hiring Level 2 or 3 Early Childhood Educators to develop and launch the children's program.
This is a great opportunity for an Educator who wants to help shape the culture and be part of the exciting early stages of a new centre.
About the Role
As an ECE, you will play a key role in setting high-quality practices, collaborating with other Educators, and creating a warm, engaging environment for children and families.
You will bring your knowledge, experiences, and skills of implementing Reggio and/or Montessori practices, to provide a nurturing and responsive program for the children and families.
Responsibilities
The Early Childhood Educators fulfill the following roles and responsibilities as active and engaged members of the Little Kids Club of Royal Vista team. This position is for our youngest group, ages 19 months to under 48 months.
- Plan and implement age and developmentally appropriate programming and activities through a play-based model for children aged 19 months to under 4 years .
- Within a blended curriculum model of Montessori and Reggio practices, plan and present opportunities for children's development and learning based on your knowledge of the children's interests, needs and development.
- Create a positive and nurturing environment that meets the children’s social, emotional, intellectual, mental, spiritual, language and physical development.
- On-going implementation of LKCRV policies and practices.
- Build positive, respectful, supportive relationships with children, families and team members.
- Be an active, engaged participant of the professional child care team.
- Ensure on-going supervision strategies that ensure the children’s safety and well-being at all times.
- Carry out personal care routines to meet the needs of each child
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with families about their child’s experiences and needs.
- Assist with and attend family functions that involve the daycare (i.e. Enrollment, parent meetings, holidays).
- Maintain full compliance with of the AB Early Learning and Child Care Regulation and AHS Guidelines.
- Proficiently use the needed functions of Kinderlogix (previously Timesavr)
Professionalism & Professional Development
- Remain current on child development information and childcare related issues by participating in professional development opportunities
- Willingness to learn and implement the curriculum theories and practices
- Participate in ongoing feedback for professional growth
- Maintain current first-aid certification.
- Renew Police Security Check every 3 years.
Qualifications
- ECE Level 2 or 3 required
- Minimum One Year experience in a group child care centre
- Experience with children 19 months to under 4 years.
- Training or experience with Montessori and/or Reggio Emilia approaches preferred
- Strong communication, and organizational skills
- Passion for high-quality early learning and team collaboration
- Knowledge of AB ELCC Regulation and AHS Requirements for Childcare
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within 6 months of start date)
