Tool Crib Attendant Summary
Hourly range of $26.00 – $30.00.
This position is for an existing, open vacancy.

Tool Crib Attendant Summary
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for issuing tools, dies, other equipment and consumables to employees while maintaining accurate records of the tools released from the Tool Crib. The Attendant is further responsible for tracking and monitoring inventory levels within ERP system and receiving any new equipment into the Crib in accordance with Kilmarnock Enterprise policies and procedures. The Tool Crib Attendant is also required to schedule and conduct regular maintenance on any tool, die or equipment in the Crib to ensure they are readily available and safe for use. Excellence, quality and reliability are vital values for this role. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Tool Crib Attendant Job Duties
Issue tools, dies, equipment and consumables to workers.
Maintain accurate Tool Crib inventory, including current location of tools, dies and equipment, user names, job numbers and corresponding dates of the issuance and return of the equipment.
Ensure maintenance logs are current and accurate.
Perform regular and scheduled maintenance on tools, dies and other equipment.
Ensure the safe operation of all Tool Crib inventory.
Conduct annual Tool Crib inventory audits and report on findings.
Receive new Tool Crib inventory in accordance with established procedures.
Inform Shop Manager when repairs are required by an external service provider and supplies are needed.
Ensure the safety and security of the Tool Crib at all times.
Apply lean manufacturing principles in day-to-day production.
Maintain multiple tool trailers and vehicles for off-site use including issuing and return from work site.
Purchasing of Toolcrib consumables
Responsible for maintaining and monitoring fuel fill ups for the fleet
Responsible for monitoring and coordinating the opening and closing of the shop on a daily basis
Monitoring and maintaining building maintenance complete with garbage and scrap steel and general clean-up.
Organizing pick-ups and deliveries.
Other duties shall be assigned as required.
Tool Crib Attendant Basic Requirements
Secondary School Diploma required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in welding and/or millwright trade.
Familiar with purchasing and inventory control processes and procedures.
Experience with ERP systems
Proven experience with and maintenance of tools, dies and other equipment.
Organization and record keeping skills required.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Excellent computer skills required.
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must meet all Government of Canada security screening requirements and maintain the applicable security clearance(s) for the duration of their employment in the role.
Tool Crib Attendant Work Conditions
Manual dexterity required.
Interacts with employees and management.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Repetitive work.
Shop environment – subject to noise, dust and hazards associated with the trades
Safety equipment will be required
Overtime may be required.
