We are a growing sonic drilling company based in Dawson City and are looking for an experienced Mechanic / Maintenance Manager to join our team on a full-time, year-round basis.
We are seeking someone who takes pride in maintaining equipment to a high standard, enjoys working independently, and wants to be a key part of a professional drilling operation. Preference will be given to applicants who live in or are willing to relocate to the Dawson City area.
Responsibilities
As our Mechanic / Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for keeping our fleet operating safely and reliably by:
- Performing inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on sonic drilling equipment.
- Maintaining pickup trucks, heavy trucks, trailers, support equipment, generators, pumps, and other mechanical systems.
- Scheduling and managing preventative maintenance for the entire fleet.
- Troubleshooting hydraulic, diesel engine, electrical, and mechanical issues.
- Maintaining an organized parts inventory and ensuring critical spare parts are always in stock.
- Ordering parts and coordinating with suppliers.
- Keeping accurate maintenance records and equipment service history.
- Working closely with drilling crews to minimize equipment downtime.
- Assisting with equipment mobilization, shop organization, and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician, Truck & Transport Mechanic, Agricultural Mechanic, or equivalent.
- Strong experience working with hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical troubleshooting, and heavy equipment.
- Experience maintaining drilling equipment is considered a strong asset.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A valid Class 5 driver's licence (Class 1 or air brake endorsement is an asset).
- Welding and fabrication experience is considered an asset.

Pay: $40.00-$85.00 per hour
