A KidStrong coach is a mentor who focuses on developing kids' physical, mental, and emotional skills through fun and engaging activities. Our Coaches teach programs that promote confidence, teamwork, and resilience, helping children build strength, coordination, and leadership abilities. Our Coaches work with kids in group settings, using exercises and challenges designed by KidStrong Headquarters to teach life skills while also fostering a love for movement and activity. The goal is to empower kids to become strong, healthy, and capable, both inside and out.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coach students by delivering an evolving curriculum that focuses on Brain, Physical, and Character development up to 24 hours a week.
- Complete Coach Training and Evaluation with GM.
- Understand the “why” behind the KidStrong curriculum and be able to clearly and concisely communicate it.
- Coach classes for students with age groups ranging from roughly 15 months-old to 11 years-old.
- Create positive interactions with students and families before, during, and after class.
- Maintain dynamic, fun, motivational. and professional demeanour when leading class.
- Demonstrate and manage the implementation of various programming and curriculum elements.
- Use the KidStrong Coaches App to record data and provide data (attendance, awards, etc.).
- Communicate professionally with co-workers and management.
- Coaches must have availability of a minimum of 6 hours per week.
- Must be able to ensure classes both start and end on schedule and follow the appropriate pace of curriculum.
- Must be comfortable working in a high-energy, physically active environment, including staying on your feet for extended periods, moving continuously throughout class, and safely lifting and repositioning equipment up to 25 lbs as needed.
- Must be comfortable physically working with kids to ensure proper technique and ensure student safety.
- Assisting parents of students, ages 4 and younger, with the direction and flow of a class.
- Complete trainings through KidStrong University as required by the GM and/or HQ Training and Certification team.
- Attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by the GM.
- Learn and manage KidStrong Camps when local schools are not operating (example: Winter Break, Summer Break)
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for working with children.
- Athletic or coaching background with experience working with or coaching kids ages 15 months - 11 years old.
- Comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding child development.
- Positive, motivating public speaking and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Commitment to schedule
- Intermediate knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics
- CPR certification and a Vulnerable Sector Check are required and must be completed and paid for by the candidate prior to start date.
- Confident and energetic in front of groups, with a natural ability to lead, coach, and mentor children in a fun and engaging way.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
