Billing Payments Control Advisor

Annual salary: $ 109,700.00 - 138,700.00
What you'll do
The successful candidate will be a member of the Revenue Management & Rate Operations team supporting the
operations and administration of the Governance, Risk and Compliance functions within the Customer Operations group by
working collaboratively with multiple internal business groups.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Conducts risk assessments across revenue management functions, systems, and processes, and designs, implements,
and monitors controls to ensure risks are appropriately managed and controls are proportionate to risk.
- Ensures compliance with internal and external policies, processes, tariffs, and control standards by applying sound risk
and control practices and implementing effective operational methods.
- Monitors, audits, and assesses the effectiveness of revenue management controls and business systems, identifying
deficiencies and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Oversees fraud prevention and detection controls, including fraud risk assessments, transaction reviews, and reporting, to
minimize revenue loss and exposure to fraudulent activity.
- Reviews current revenue management control practices, benchmarks against industry best practices, and recommends
practical, value added improvements.
- Sets direction and priorities for control and process improvements based on risk, audit results, and compliance reviews.
- Provides recommendations to management and influences stakeholders to improve, change, or implement new controls.
- Acts as a lead for internal control and audit initiatives, tracking progress against plans, reporting results, and ensuring
timely delivery.
- Partners with corporate internal audit teams to support audit planning, research, investigations, and response activities.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance.
- Minimum 5-7 years related experience with the emphasis on customer services, operations, or financial management
- Strong knowledge of common business and auditing practices and procedure, including a working understanding of BC
Hydro internal controls and the COSO framework
- Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and modeling techniques
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation and/or experience with financial controls would be an asset
- Understanding of the Electric Tariff, policies, legal and media implication of customer issues and relevant customer
systems.
