Job Title: Industrial Painter
Job Description
We are seeking skilled Industrial Painters/Sandblasters with experience in industrial projects. The role involves industrial painting, coating, and sandblasting within industrial environments, including pipe preparation for welders and structural steel. Ideal candidates are ambitious self-starters with a go-getter attitude, motivated to consistently show up and perform tasks safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities

Conduct power tool cleaning and prep work for brush and roll type painting.

Perform surface preparation using hand tools such as sandpaper and scrapers, as well as power tools including grinders and orbital sanders.

Support blasters by pulling blast lines, filling blast pots, and fueling compressors.

Assist painters by pulling paint lines and moving lights around.

Execute masking with tape and paper.

Complete all tasks under supervision, with provided training and mentorship.
Essential Skills-
2+ years of industrial painting/blasting experience on industrial sites.

Proficiency in power tool cleaning and brush and roller paint application.

Ability to travel to the site daily (vehicle required).

Good communication skills.

Certifications: WHMIS, Fall protection, Respirator Fit tested.

Personal Protective Equipment: FR Coveralls, Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Task appropriate gloves.

Reliable transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications-
Experience in industrial painting/sandblasting.

CSTS and fall protection certification.

Work Environment
The work is conducted at a refinery in Burnaby, with shifts from Monday to Thursday, 6:30 AM to 5 PM. The schedule allows for a morning break, lunch, and an afternoon break. If called in on Fridays, it constitutes overtime. There may be options to work on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The work environment requires adherence to safety protocols and the use of appropriate protective gear.
