First Peoples Wellness Circle (FPWC) is an Indigenous-led national not-for-profit dedicated to enhancing the lives of First Peoples in Canada by addressing healing, wellness, and mental wellness barriers. The organization’s purpose is to walk with and support First Peoples and communities to share collective intelligence for healing, peace-making, and living a good life. FPWC’s approach is centred on promoting wellness pathways based on traditional knowledge and culture that supports healing and wellness and fosters a two-eyed seeing approach. FPWC’s new strategic plan encompasses four main objectives: Growth, The Framework, Relationships, and Collective Intelligence. Through these objectives, we seek to build relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous organizations and build workforce capacity by sharing collective intelligence and implementing the First Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework. The FPWC works diligently to advocate for transformative change, aiming to create wellness and whole health pathways for Canada’s First Peoples shaped by diverse Indigenous cultural lenses and knowledge.
Position Summary
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Project Lead. This is a 21-month term, full-time (37.5 hours per week), fully remote position from July 2026 to March 2028. Our head office is located in North Bay, Ontario and individuals from Ontario may be given preference.
Under the direction and supervision of the First Peoples Wellness Circle (FPWC) Program Manager, Special Projects, the IRS Legacy Video Project Lead (Project Lead), is responsible for guiding and supporting the development, production and delivery of high-quality videos that align with the project’s purpose, value and audience. This role provides leadership across planning, coordination, creative direction and relationship management to ensure the final products are impactful, culturally respectful, and delivered on time. The outcome of this project is to document the Indian Residential School Resolution Health Support Program and to support the creation of training videos designed to provide training to the IRS and Cultural Support Workforce.
Key Responsibilities
● Provide primary oversight for project planning and coordination of the video project.
● Oversee the creative direction and content development for all videos to be produced.
● Work with vendors, FPWC team and the advisory committee to ensure the video’s purpose, key message, tone and audience are clearly defined.
● Ensure content reflects cultural safety, trauma-informed principles and organizational values.
● Develop and maintain relationships with project partners and stakeholder engagement.
● Maintain strong communication and relational accountability with all members of the project team.
● Work collaboratively with vendors throughout all phases of the project.
● Maintain production oversight to ensure accuracy, clarity and alignment with project goals.
● Ensure quality assurance and completion of project deliverables including supporting dissemination planning.

● Knowledge of the IRS settlement agreement, IRS workforce and its impact to survivors and their families.

● Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, Creative Cloud, and project management tools.
● Knowledge or use of an Indigenous language and/or bilingualism (French/English) considered an asset.
● Ability to work flexible hours and willingness to travel.
Qualifications
●Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in performing arts, broadcasting, film studies, journalism or business administration.
● A minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience in Project Management, Media Production or a related field.
● Master’s degree and/or additional certifications an asset.
● Experience working with Indigenous/First Nation communities and Non-Profit setting is considered an asset.
● Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally safe approaches to content creation.
● This position is fully remote, work from home role.
● Access to reliable internet, and private office space to work is required.
