Our client in Toronto, ON is actively looking for a Payroll Clerk to join their team.
Responsibilities:

Supported and maintained payroll operations for a workforce of ~5,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Processed bi-weekly payroll, including salary payments, expense reimbursements, and adjustments within strict deadlines.
Verified time and attendance records, investigating discrepancies and liaising with employees to resolve issues promptly.
Entered and validated payroll data in HRIS/payroll systems, ensuring accuracy prior to payroll submission.
Managed employee updates including tax status, deductions, and banking information to maintain correct withholdings.
Assisted with union dues processing and preparation of MSP files.
Prepared and processed manual cheque requisitions when required, ensuring proper approvals and timely distribution.
Supported year-end payroll activities including reconciliations and regulatory remittances.
Processed Records of Employment (ROEs) and responded to inquiries from external agencies (CRA, Service Canada, Family Support).
Addressed employee payroll inquiries and concerns, escalating complex issues to HR leadership as needed.
Maintained compliance with payroll policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
