Company Overview
Starview Packaging Machinery, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of packaging machinery with over 30 years of experience designing and building both standard and custom packaging systems for customers worldwide. From blister, skin, and vacuum packaging through to fully customized automated lines, our mission is to exceed customer expectations through robust machine design and superior service.
About the Role
We are seeking a Production Manager / Production Engineer to lead and optimize manufacturing operations at our Montreal facility. This is a hands-on, multi-faceted role at the heart of our build process — equally suited to an experienced production manager who brings engineering rigor to the floor, or a production/manufacturing engineer ready to take on leadership of the production team. The title and emphasis can flex to fit your background.
You will own the journey from engineering hand-off to finished, tested machine — coordinating people, processes, and schedules to deliver high-quality standard and custom equipment on time and on spec.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production and assembly activities, ensuring timely, on-spec delivery of standard and custom machine builds.
- Lead, mentor, and schedule production and assembly staff, fostering a collaborative, accountable team environment.
- Translate engineering designs and customer specifications into efficient production plans and clear work instructions.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements (e.g., CE marking / EU Machinery Regulation for export builds).
- Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and sales to align builds with customer specifications and delivery timelines.
- Drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing principles — optimizing workflow, resource allocation, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support assembly, machine testing, and factory acceptance (FAT/SAT) activities as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a production management or manufacturing/production engineering role, preferably in machinery, automation, or custom equipment manufacturing.
- A degree or background in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering is an asset (particularly for the engineering-weighted profile).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project-coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic drawings.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities; bilingual (English/French) is an asset given our Montreal location and international customer base.
What We Offer
- Competitive compensation and benefits.
- An innovative, collaborative work environment with a respected industry leader.
- The opportunity to lead, shape, and grow our production operations.
If you are ready to take your career to the next level, we invite you to apply today and be part of our innovative team.
