Job Overview
The Purchasing & Inventory Control Specialist owns the full flow of materials into and through the company; from identifying what needs to be ordered, through sourcing and purchasing. This is a hybrid role that combines the responsibilities of a Buyer and an Inventory Control Specialist into a single position.
The Specialist ensures the company has the right materials, in the right quantities, at the right time and cost, while keeping inventory records accurate and stock levels appropriate. The role is the single point of accountability for supplier relationships, purchase orders, inventory accuracy, and replenishment planning, and works closely with operations, production, sales, marketing, and finance.
Duties
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes using our ERP system, ensuring timely acquisition of products and materials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to maximize value and minimize costs.
- Oversee inventory control by monitoring stock levels, conducting regular audits, and implementing MRP (Material Requirements Planning) strategies to prevent shortages or excesses.
- Coordinate sourcing activities, ensuring alignment with sales and marketing schedules and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain workflows, improve procurement procedures, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Track vendor performance metrics and address any issues related to delivery delays or quality concerns promptly
- Maintain comprehensive records of purchase orders, inventory movements, and supplier communications for transparency and audit readiness.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, pricing strategies, and negotiation techniques.
- Knowledge of MRP systems, sourcing methods, and inventory control best practices.
- Familiarity with supply chain principles including logistics, demand planning, and procurement workflows.
- Excellent communication skills for effective negotiation and relationship building with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to analyze data accurately to make informed purchasing decisions and optimize inventory levels.
- Prior experience in using ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management is highly preferred

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
