What you will be doing in the role of Project Engineering:
The Project Engineer(ing) role is responsible for the planning, organizing and coordination of project/order activities in a multi-discipline environment to meet customer requirements by working with customers, suppliers and various teams in accordance with established policies, procedures and systems.
In the Project Engineer(ing) roles, individuals are capable of receiving and executing assignments of low to moderate scope complexity with independence, usually as part of a larger scope of work. This role may need to rely on the judgment of more experienced project engineers for the completion of tasks.
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Interacting frequently with customers to interpret their needs and requirements and representing them in Lakeside’s supply of products and services
- Perform overall quality control of the work and report regularly on assignments status
- Cooperate and communicate effectively with project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
- Contributes in the creation of designs (software or hardware, P&ID or PFD, 3D model, Fabrication Drawing) of low to medium complexity. May require assistance from other more experienced project engineers.
- Contributes to sizing/selection of equipment (Pumps, heat exchangers, control valves, flowmeters). Review selections from suppliers and Lakeside's Application Engineers.
- Provides deliverable updates to project team (progress, timing)
- Prepares Design Submittals to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (i.e. CSA, TSSA, etc.)
- Contributes to testing factory acceptance, site acceptance, functional test, and commissioning and start-ups with low to medium complexity and according to documented standards
- Participates in the development of engineering processes and procedures.
- Awareness of Lakeside quality processes, follows standard operating procedures relevant to tasks assigned
- Application of knowledge and capabilities by following defined procedures and tasks requirements as assigned. i.e. following design plans as communicated by PMs/Technical Leads
Knowledge and skills required for the role:
- 1 – 4 years of experience in an engineering related role
- Experience in design and implementation of mechanical, electrical, analytical, sanitary and/or automation solutions
- Exposure to the process industry including Chemical and Specialty Chemicals, Mining, Pulp and Paper, Refining, Power, Cogeneration (Power and Steam Production), Pharma and Biotech, and Food and Beverage.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of processes and systems
- Knowledge of the integration of mechanical, electrical and control components
- Knowledge of Foxboro or ABB or other similar system.
- Knowledge of Emerson's PROVOX, RS3 or DeltaV technologies including Foundation Fieldbus or other fieldbus technologies would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Microsoft Project
- Knowledge of process control and instrumentation
