Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult Day Program Nurse Coordinator to oversee operations within our adult day and bathing programs. This vital role involves coordinating client care, supervising staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality health services to our participants. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, with experience in senior care, dementia care, and management, and will be committed to fostering a safe, compassionate environment for our clients. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all activities within the adult day program, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Supervise staff and volunteers, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a high standard of client care.
- Develop individualized care plans for participants, incorporating assessments related to dementia, senior care, and other medical needs.
- Administer medications and treatments following prescribed protocols.
- Collaborate with families to help coordinate services.
- Monitor participant health status during program hours, responding promptly to medical emergencies or changes in condition.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Island Health Reporting methods.
- Educate participants and their families about health conditions, medication management, and wellness strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements and safety protocols within the Centre.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing client outcomes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Current Registration with BCCNM (RN or LPN); experience in adult or senior care preferred.
- Proven experience in hospital settings, assisted living facilities, or home care environments.
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, and case management principles.
- Prior supervisory or team management experience required; familiarity with supervising staff is highly desirable.
- Experience working with diverse populations including seniors, individuals with dementia or chronic conditions.
- Proficiency with electronic health records; medical office experience is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Ability to handle acute care situations calmly and efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach.
- Must be able to work well independently as well as part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional client-centred care.

Pay: $34.08-$36.48 per hour
