Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by preparing high-quality dishes and supporting the overall food service process. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, food safety, and delivering excellent customer experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Cook menu items with consistency, quality, and attention to detail
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene
- Support the serving staff by preparing orders promptly and accurately
- Assist with inventory management, including stocking supplies and rotating stock as needed
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance issues
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or food service roles within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and practices
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Knowledge of meal preparation, food safety protocols, and sanitation procedures
- Prior restaurant or kitchen experience is highly desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
