CNC Operator Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Programmer / Operator with experience in operating large CNC machines. The ideal candidate will have expertise in blueprint reading, machine setup, and CNC programming. This position is essential in producing high-precision components for our customers. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines to manufacture parts according to specifications and blueprints.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- Perform quality control checks during operation and on finished products to ensure they meet required tolerances and specifications.
- Utilize hand tools and measuring instruments to assemble components as needed.
- Conduct routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot any mechanical issues that arise during operation.
- Program CNC machines with appropriate software, ensuring accurate execution of production runs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety guidelines and protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Qualifications
- Preferred minimum 5 years of experience operating large CNC machines with a strong focus on programming, setup, and machine operation.
- Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- CNC Programming: Solid knowledge of CNC programming
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision and quality control, ensuring that parts meet specifications with minimal waste.
- Machine Setup: Skilled in setting up large CNC machines, including loading raw materials, selecting proper tooling, and adjusting machine settings for each job.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with CNC machines, tooling, or programs to minimize downtime.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment.
