The City of Martensville is one of the fastest growing cities in Canada and we have an opening for a Temporary, Full-time Recreation Program Coordinator II.
The term of employment may be up to 18 months to cover a leave of absence.
Reporting to the Manager of Recreation and Facilities, the Recreation Program Coordinator II coordinates the planning, delivery, evaluation and marketing of community recreation programs, facility rentals, and special events. The role provides leadership and guidance to program staff and volunteers while ensuring effective program implementation, participant engagement and high standards of customer service.
What You Will Bring to the Team:

Post secondary degree or diploma in Recreation, Leisure Services or a related field.

Minimum two years experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing recreation programs, community events, or similar activities, preferably in a municipal setting.

Previous experience supervising or providing guidance to staff in a customer service focused environment.

Experience promoting programs, events, or facilities through a variety of channels including social media and website platforms.

Previous experience using recreation-based scheduling software.

Strong customer service approach with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, volunteers and members of the public.

Ability to organize tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to exercise sound judgment, make effective decisions, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, while recognizing when issues should be escalated to a supervisor.

Collaborates effectively with colleagues, volunteers and community partners in support of program and organizational goals.

Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment while maintaining a safety-first mentality.

Demonstrates respect, cooperation, and the ability to work effectively with others by valuing diversity, understanding differences, and fostering positive team relationships across all departments.

Must maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Hours of Work:

This is typically a Monday to Friday position. However, some evening and weekend work may be required. Normal work schedule will be adjusted throughout the year as necessary.
Wages:
- As per the CUPE LOCAL 2582 Collective Agreement: 2026 Rate – $26.79/hour
