By following the established person-centered plan programs, provides support to participants in a manner that maximizes their potential and quality of life.
- Maintains established standards of support, i.e. CLSD contractual obligations, regulatory compliance, etc.
- Assists in the implementation of person-centered plans with participants, coworkers, families, community/outside resources, etc.
- Provides physical and personal support to participants as necessary (this may include bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, oral hygiene, basic routine care, and any other tasks necessary to promote the well-being of the client).
- Participates in the training and orientation of staff alongside Program Manager in showing, teaching, and supporting new staff with participant programs, participant care routines, and daily duties in the program(s).
- Lifts, transfers, and repositions those individuals with mobility limitations
- Depending on participants’ abilities, uses a variety of techniques to communicate which may include pictures, tactile prompts, and sign language.
- Involves clients in daily living and leisure activities and assists individuals to participate in community events.
- Acts as a positive role model for participants, encourages positive interpersonal relationships, and coaches and motivates individuals to build life and social skills
- Identifies triggers and performs respectful intervention techniques if an individual is exhibiting harmful/dangerous behaviours.
- Deals with participant situations as they arise, i.e. harmful or dangerous behaviours
- Transports and supports participants in daily living errands, recreational activities, and medical appointments which may include out-of-town travel.
- Stores, administers, and documents use of medications as required and in accordance with established medication policies and procedures.
- Handles equipment as required.
Pay: From $19.15 per hour
