As a Social Worker II, you will work on an acute inpatient mental health unit and provide a continuum of services from admission through transfer and discharge. Working independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence-informed care through crisis intervention, mental health risk assessment, risk management, treatment planning, consultation, referrals, therapeutic engagement, safety planning, and psychosocial interventions. The Social Worker II requires knowledge of Mental Health and Addiction programs and services, community resources, and the Mental Health Act. You will be responsible for managing multiple priorities, gathering and documenting information accurately and in a timely manner, and supporting patient and family-centered, trauma-informed care. The Social Worker II works closely with Outpatient Mental Health Clinics, specialized clinics, rural services, Child and Family Services, law enforcement, and community partners to support safe and successful transitions in care.
As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families. Your services may include: psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to be informed by and work within applicable Alberta Legislations; Mental health Act (MHA), Alberta Guardianship and Trusteeship Act (AGTA), Personal Directives Act (PDA), Health Professions Act and Health Information Act. At least 2 years experience on an Inpatient Mental Health team. Proven communication, organizational, and excellent interpersonal skills as well as ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two to three years previous experience working in an Addiction and Mental Health field preferred. Previous experience working in an inpatient mental health setting. Connect Care experience preferred. NVCI, Suicide Prevention, First Aid & BLS training preferred.
