Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
Family Medicine Practice | Barrie, Ontario
We are a family medicine office providing comprehensive primary care in Barrie and we are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team.
We are seeking someone who is empathetic, organized, professional and dedicated to providing patients with high quality healthcare in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside physicians and administrative staff to provide patient care on a daily basis
- Perform initial patient assessments and obtain vital signs prior to physician visits
- Perform various nursing procedures including but not limited to: injections, immunizations, suture removal, ear syringing, basic wound care, liquid nitrogen, etc
- Assist physicians with procedures as needed
- Provide patient education regarding investigations and laboratory results under physician guidance
- Coordinate and expedite patient flow through triage
- Handle patient phone calls and arrange follow-up appointments as necessary
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient documentation in the EMR system (Accuro)
- Organize, monitor, and order medical supplies and vaccines
- Ensure proper storage and monitoring of vaccine inventory and expiry dates
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked clinical environment
- Assist with additional related duties as required
Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; primary care experience considered an asset
- Experience with EMR systems, preferably Accuro
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Additional Information
- Work schedule: Monday to Thursday
- Competitive compensation based on experience
- Anticipated start date: September 2026 (start date negotiable to start in August if available)
