Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head Mechanic to lead our maintenance and repair operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical expertise, electrical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools and schematics. This leadership role involves overseeing maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, and providing exceptional customer service to internal teams and clients. The Head Mechanic will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and longevity of our machinery and vehicle fleet, including heavy duty equipment, and automotive systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team in performing repairs, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on a wide range of machinery and vehicles.
- Conduct complex mechanical repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs on various systems.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues accurately and implement effective solutions.
- Oversee heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all maintenance activities.
- Provide technical guidance on the use of automotive repair techniques, Caterpillar machinery, and other specialized equipment.
- Collaborate with sales teams to support customer service initiatives by providing technical expertise.
- Train junior technicians and ensure continuous improvement of team skills.
Skills
- Extensive experience with mechanical repair, including automotive systems and heavy machinery such as Caterpillar, Case, Kubota, etc.
- Proficiency in welding, electrical troubleshooting, schematics reading, and the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair techniques and systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Customer service orientation to address client needs professionally.
- Familiarity with sales support related to parts or service offerings is a plus.
- Experience working with schematics for electrical or mechanical systems is highly desirable.
