Job Description
Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Bilingual Credit & Collection Clerk will be responsible for performing accounts receivable and credit-related functions. This position requires excellent negotiation, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, detailed oriented and strong organizational skills. Proven problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills are required to meet deadlines and prioritize work. We are looking for someone with a high level of integrity and work ethic with a very professional telephone manner.
Must be available 3 days a week for up to 7 hours per day for the 6-month contract.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage outbound and inbound calls on overdue accounts to reduce our DSO
- Organize monthly accounts to maximize monthly recovery
- Review and release pending orders to minimize possible risk of non-payment
- Resolve customer questions regarding billing-related inquiries
- Reconcile customer accounts as required
- Resolve account discrepancies and reach out to other internal departments as needed
- Perform other accounts receivable related functions as needed
- Comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Fluent in French and English both written and spoken
- Strong organizational skills
- College Diploma or Degree in accounting/business preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit and collections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Food Industry experience especially in credit and collections is considered an asset
Total Compensation:
In accordance with the provincial wage transparency requirements, the compensation for this position is $24.00 – $29.00 an hour.
