Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finish Skid Steer Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating skid steer equipment to perform final grading, site preparation, and finishing work on residential, commercial, and civil construction projects. This position requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate skid steer equipment safely and efficiently for finish grading and site preparation.
- Perform fine grading to project specifications and elevations.
- Read and interpret grade stakes, site plans, and laser levels.
- Complete final surface preparation for paving, landscaping, concrete work, and other site finishes.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Identify and report equipment issues or safety concerns.
- Work closely with supervisors and crew members to meet project timelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Ability to achieve precise grades and smooth finishes.
- Experience working around underground utilities and other site obstacles.
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GPS machine control systems.
- Experience operating additional heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, or dozers.
- First Aid, WHMIS, CSTS, or other construction safety certifications.
