Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety, with a strong background in sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring exceptional service standards in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise and train kitchen staff in sushi preparation, food handling, and safety procedures
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to health regulations
- Manage food inventory, ordering supplies as needed to maintain stock levels
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety standards
- Serve customers directly when required, providing excellent hospitality and service
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction
- Lead by example in practicing proper food handling techniques and promoting a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within the food industry, preferably in a restaurant setting
- Supervising experience or team management skills in a culinary environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations
- Excellent leadership abilities with the capacity to manage restaurant operations effectively
- Experience in restaurant management or hospitality is highly desirable
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills with a focus on teamwork and customer service
- Knowledge of food handling procedures specific to sushi and Japanese cuisine
- Demonstrated ability to serve guests professionally while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
Pay: $20.00-$29.82 per hour
