Job Overview
The Miner’s Daughter is seeking a reliable and experienced Cook / Line Cook to join our kitchen team. We’re looking for someone who can handle both breakfast and regular service in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining quality, consistency, and a positive attitude.
The ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team, can stay organized during busy rushes, and takes pride in preparing great food — whether it’s a breakfast crowd in the morning or a packed supper rush at night.
Duties
- Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and supper menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Cook and plate food with consistency, speed, and attention to presentation
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen
- Work efficiently during busy breakfast and supper rushes
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures are followed
- Assist with prep work including chopping, portioning, and ingredient preparation
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and ticket times during service
- Help receive and organize inventory deliveries
- Support overall kitchen operations and assist teammates as needed
Experience
- Previous experience as a cook, breakfast cook, line cook, or prep cook preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Experience preparing breakfast items such as eggs, bacon, breakfast platters, omelettes, and home fries considered an asset
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety and food handling procedures
- Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy service periods
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when needed
- Experience with grills, fryers, flat tops, and commercial kitchen equipment preferred
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
