Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee day‑to‑day coordination of field operations. This role is ideal for a highly organized, proactive leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and understands the demands of sewer and water construction.
The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling crews, coordinating jobs with clients, monitoring employee performance, and ensuring projects run efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily and weekly crew and equipment schedules
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client communication, ensuring clear expectations and timely updates
- Ensure field Safety compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations
- Coordinate job details with clients, field crews, and management to ensure smooth project execution
- Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, and support a positive team culture
- Assist with planning, logistics, and resource allocation for sewer and water projects
- Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency
- Support project documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of management or supervisory experience, preferably in construction or related industries
- At least 5 years of hands‑on sewer and water field experience (municipal underground utilities, water/sewer installation, or similar)
- Proficient in Microsoft office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Strong understanding of underground construction processes, equipment, and safety practices
- Excellent communication and client‑service skills
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop field teams
- Strong organizational and scheduling abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Valid driver’s license; additional certifications (COR, safety training, etc.) considered an asset
